The Start Up Guide for your new team members.

Communication

Congrats on adding a new member to your team! This guide is to help you and your new artist through the training process. When your new artist first signs up, it’s good to determine how fast or slow she is ready to go. What you want to avoid is overwhelming someone to the point that they have no idea what to do and it stops them in there tracks, and on the flip side, we don’t want to slow someone down that is revved up and ready to go making them bored!

It’s also a good idea to figure out what’s the best way SHE wants to be contacted? Is it over email? Over text? Social media? We don’t want to be sending instructions over email if that person never even checks their email!

Habit Building

Below I’ve created a guideline for the first couple of weeks for a new artist! Be aware that this is just a guideline. Remember that your new artist might progress a lot more quickly than this guide or could even get stuck on a section. The important thing is to stay in contact, keep her at a pace she’s comfortable with, motivate her to keep going, and make sure she’s having fun and enjoying it!

This first couple of weeks is crucial for her to start building the habit of working on her new business regularly. Remember that you are setting an example for her! She will learn from you how to be successful in her business and how to treat her recruits in the future. ❤

Day One

Your new artist’s first day is so exciting!! This is a day to welcome her, add her to the right Facebook groups, send her a message about Beauty School, and let her know you’re there for any questions!

Day Two

On day two it can feel like there’s a lot of information that you’re never going to get through. Day two I recommend sending her a link to Beauty School New Artist Training. This is also the day I recommend giving her this list of additional tools. Let her know these are not required but will be helpful later on!

Day Three

On day three, have your new artist complete the rest of Section 1. In these lessons she’s going to review the compensation plan and learn when and where her paychecks are coming from. She’ll also review the information on where to find help. Be there to answer any questions she has!

Day Four

Your new artists kit should be arriving soon! When her kit arrives, it’s going to be such a surge of excitement, and it’s good to ride that wave! On this day you can show her how you organize your kit. Suggest that she does an “unboxing” video on instagram or facebook! Unboxing her kit is a great way for people to see all the pretty goodies and get excited with her!

Day Five

Today would be a great time to show her how to organize her kit. Her kit comes with so many items it can be overwhelming knowing where to start! We suggest placing highlights together, contours together etc and from lightest to darkest. Remember to keep creams and powders separate! Another good tip is to label colors around the edge of the compact to help memorize the names of the colors!

Day Six

If she hasn’t already, have her start going over Section 2, 3, and 4 about the makeup. It’s so important for her to feel comfortable with the makeup, and Beauty School is a great way for her to get a lot of valuable information without feeling overwhelmed. Let her know the best way to start practicing is on herself! Suggest doing a before and after photo, and to play with all the colors!

Day Seven

It’s time to start practicing! Recommend she set up some practice makeovers on some family members or friends. Or you could even send her some color matching selfies you’ve received and have her practice guessing which colors she thinks they would need. Color matching is such a crucial part of her business, the more practice she gets, the better!

Day Eight

It’s been a week since your artist first signed up! It’s time for her to go through some sales training! Send her the “Basic Sales” section of Beauty School. Have her send you the answers to the “What’s Your Why” quiz if you don’t already know what her goals are. You two being on the same page will make sure she’s happy, fulfilled, and successful in terms of what she feels is successful to her!

Day nine

Today is a great day to focus on marketing! Does she need help setting up social media accounts or ideas on how to get started? Let her know what’s worked for you and for others that you’ve seen! This is also a great time to go over photography! You don’t have to be a pro to get AMAZING portraits. Send her a link to watch this video by Liberty Edwards, THE selfie queen on Team Jacob!

Day ten

Have your artist finish up beauty school if she hasn’t already. See if there are any questions she has about getting paid, applying any of the products, sales, or how to work her backoffice. Don’t forget to encourage her and let her know how well she’s doing! Remind her to have fun with it!

Day Eleven

At this point, your new artist should be ready to throw a practice party! Have her schedule a get together with her close friends or family members and mock a party with them. Anything low pressure where she can go through the motions of working with people, answering questions, and applying the makeup! Remind her to take before and after photos!

Day twelve

From here on out your new artist should have the tools and knowledge to get going! Keep in close contact and actively engage! Be sure to meet with her regularly making sure she has everything she needs to be successful and keep her business growing. Have fun as a team! Don’t forget to party and chat about things other than business, you’re Seint sisters now!
